Derek Savage is a Fucking Jackass

In case you live under a rock for a millennia, and are lucky enough to not know who Derek Savage is, he is a writer who wrote a series of books for kids called Cool Cat. Yeah, real creative. It's a cat, but he's cool, yo! He may also be on drugs if you've seen the movie.

Pictured: A Cool Cat. Also, why the fuck does the cat lady in the background have a fucking Strapon in front of the kids? I'm serious, look at the purse she's carrying, It looks like a strapon.

There is a whole book series based around that, folks. Yeah, it's real. Not only that, but there is a movie made this year called Cool Cat Saves the Kids. What exactly is he saving the kids from? Why bullying, of course. The movie is a flimsy attempt at teaching kids how to deal with bullying.

In the movie, the bully, who is a fat kid with no friends, decides to text one of Cool Cat's friends in the movie, saying that she has rat hair. From behind the bush, instead of being in his room to do it. Remember when I told you that the bully has no friends? Well, apparently, according to Cool Cat, bullies are the way they are because they have no friends. So the message is that people who are lonely are assholes. Way to go, Derek Savage!

This is just one example of what the movie does wrong, since the movie does everything wrong, but today we are not talking about the movie, we're talking about how Derek Savage started issuing copyright take down notices on all Cool Cat movies on YouTube.

Yeah, I know that YouTube's copyright system is a broken clusterfuck, and you might be telling me that it could've been anybody, but it's definitely him. How do I know? Well, he took down YouTuber I Hate Everything's review of Cool Cat Saves The Kids, and so I Hate Everything made a video  proving that it was none other than Derek Savage himself.

This is I Hate Everything's proof:

Here, Derek Savage claims that the reviews were infringing on his copyrighted material:

Interesting you should say that, but you couldn't be anymore wrong. For example, he says that the reason he issued copyright takedowns is because the reviews YouTubers have done are infringing on his copyrighted material, and they didn't contact him to give special permission. Well, that isn't needed for Fair Use, because according to U.S. Copyright law, there are certain exceptions to using copyrighted material, such as parody, criticism, compilation, or educational uses, just as long as credit is given.

Also, AM2R is a fan-made Metroid game is development for years. Why is it okay for a fan-made game to be made like this? Because there is no money being made off of it. NON-PROFIT! Reviewers aren't making money off of their work, I don't see Nostalgia Critic living in a fancier mansion than Bill Gates.

So, in a nutshell, Derek Savage took down IHE's review of Cool Cat Saves the Kids, but strangely left YMS' review alone, and goes on to explain the difference between copyright and fair use, which he knows nothing about.

So, fuck you, Derek Savage, way to act real professional, dipshit!
