Look, you guys, I know it's hard for you to take in, but the movie sucked. It took everything that was good about the original Ghostbusters, and ruined it for long time fans. Face it; you fell victim to marketing. You were told that this would make every misogynist upset and all, but the reality was that everybody, regardless of gender hated it. Lots of normal men and women who just wants something to laugh at hated it. So please, Fedora Knights and Tumblrinas, calm your tits (which you both have), Average Joe don't care about politics.
I mean, the argument is that if someone has a problem with the movie, they must hate the fact that it's a full female cast, and that they're misogynists. It's not that, it's just that people are getting sick of reboots, it just wasn't that funny, and it didn't even stick close enough to the source material. Nothing to do with misogyny.
People see movies for the entertainment value, not because it's some political move so brave that we must throw aside the quality for the preachy message. The makers of the movie knew you guys would just eat it up, regardless of quality, and thought "If these morons are gonna see it for some bogus agenda, who needs quality?" You Fedora Knights and Tumblrinas are just pawns to them, nothing but dollar signs to them, not brave soldiers fighting some war against this vague and nebulous organization that shares most similarities to the Illuminati by many raving mad conspiracy theorists.
So please, calm yourselves. Besides, if there was such rampant sexism within Hollywood and moviegoers, then why did Star Wars: The Force Awakens become such a box-office hit? Normally in a sexist society, such a movie would bomb due to sexist reviews. Now again, calm thine-selves.
Besides, if you want a sexist review, check out this review of Star Wars by Return of Kings (Relax, it's archived). Never heard of them? Well, that's because you don't know what true sexism is. Yeah, you don't even know the sexism I know of, but it's a good thing it's fringe...but for how long? Well, that's what we need to focus on.
Keep this in mind, if you think I'm sexist, then I may have to prove myself; I loved the newest Star Wars, I've yet to see Mad Max, my favorite videogame EVER has a female protagonist, one of my favorite anime shows was created by a woman, I know lots of neat tech was invented by women. If you still wanna call me sexist, fine. If you do, keep this in mind: women are people, and they can make mistakes, too. This movie is one of them.
Time to move on.
